Aromatherapy and Stress Relief
Lets just get down to business shall we. The best way to relieve stress is through meditation and aromatherapy. Most of the complains that I receive from my dear clients is stress, anxiety, depression, so basically emotional suffering which of course takes its tall on the physical body and manifests as pain. Although aromatherapy treatments such as bathing, topical oils, inhalation and diffusion are all very effective in treating the above conditions,I can not stress enough that for long term treatment YOU must take YOURSELF active steps toward helping yourself and that step is MEDITATION with OILS.
One of the biggest reasons why so many do not meditate on daily basis is a simple misconception about this exercise, such as it is difficult, “I cant do it”, “what if i loose control and float away”, or its some kind of religious practice. So if you feel that that is what goes through your mind when you think of meditation, so let’s step away from the word MEDITATION and into two words BREATHING EXERCISE to help you relax.
All it entails is:
Get a cold air diffuser going, start diffuser 5 min prior to starting the exercise. The oils you will need for this deep relaxation exercise is Frankincense, Palo Santo, Sandalwood and Lavender. If you dont have all of these oils if I were to pick just one, i would go with either Frankincense or Palo Santo. If your diffuser has timer please set it to 30 min.
Now seat in a comfortable position in the same room with the diffuser smile emoticon. If you are seating on the couch or chair, make sure you feet touch the floor or seat cross legged on the floor. But don’t seat cross legged on the couch, we are looking for the link with the ground at the root chakra.
Make sure your spine is straight and your back is comfortable. All you need is just a few minutes of your time.
Take a nice three deep breath before you begin. Each exhale should be twice as long as your inhalation.
Continue the same breathing and focus only on your breath. The thoughts will be coming in, that’s MIND’S job.. it is jsut doing what its supposed to do. Now your job is NOT to identify with it or JUDGE your thoughts.
Just be in the space of your thoughts and focus on your breath become the observer of it all.
You can start with as short as 3 minutes of your time and work your way up. But i promise you with daily practice you will start to feel the peace and love and joy that you are.
