Essential Oils for Helping With Fibromiaglia. Try it!
I see a lot of posts on FB about people asking what they can do for fibromiaglia.. and when I look at those posts I have not seen much about essential oils as remedy for that. Please share this to spread awareness!
According to National Fibromyalgia Association, “Fibromyalgia (FM) is an increasingly recognized chronic pain illness which is characterized by widespread musculoskeletal aches, pain and stiffness, soft tissue tenderness, general fatigue and sleep disturbances. The most common sites of pain include the neck, back, shoulders, pelvic girdle and hands, but any body part can be involved. Fibromyalgia patients experience a range of symptoms of varying intensities that wax and wane over time. FM is characterized by the presence of multiple tender points and a constellation of symptoms.”
So it is an autoimmune disorder of soft tissue (where in arthritis it is in the joints). Essential oils can help with a great deal with arthritis and can have a great relieving effect for those who have fibromiaglia. Especially when it comes to pain relief, inflamation control and sleep. Lack of sleep does not allow the body to heal, thus making conditions worse.
To help you go to sleep and stay asleep, here are top essential oils for that: lavender, chamomile roman, neroli, sandalwood, frankincense, marjoram, ylang-ylang. Take bath on daily basis, or several times a week before going to bed with no more than 8-10 drops total of essential oils: 3 lavender, 3 chamomile roman, 3 sandalwood, 1 neroli. Mix these oils in 1 teaspoon of carrier oil before adding to the bath and soak for no more than 20 min, warm water. Or try other oils above and see what works the best for you.
For reducing pain (above bath can help with easing the pain also): rosemary, ginger, lavender spike, lavender, german chamomile, marjoram, eucalyptus, benzoin, birch, black-pepper, marjoram, helichrysum, peppermint. Try including helichrysum in your blend and can add 3 to 5 oils to create a synergy. Each person is different, so try dfferent variations until you find something that works the best. Good plend to start with would be lavender, helichrysum, german chamomile, birch, peppermint. Do not exceed 15-18 drops per 1 oz of carrier oil. (about 3% concentration).
To improve your circulation, best oils for that are: ginger, rosemary, geranium, black-pepper. Flush some toxins out with: juniper, lemon, sweet fennel, cypress, grapefruit, rosemary, geranium. Use about 10 drops per 1oz of carrier oil for the whole body massage.
Be careful with oils such as black-pepper, ginger, they can irritate the skin, so use them in a very small dillution such as 2 to 3 drops in 1oz of carrier oil.
If you have HPB please avoid rosemary, peppermint, black-pepper.
The same goes if you are prone to seizures or epilepsy.
For elderly total concentration should be kept to 1 or 1.5%, which is about 6 to 9 drops per 1oz of carrier oil.
